Caskets and doors, as related to the process of closure, interest me. Rachel walks through abandoned rooms, symbolically delineating the shape and feel of a dead relationship, yet exposes that the feelings live on within its walls. Flower petals scattered, a casting aside of something delicate and beautiful. ’Care & Closure’ is about knowing you have hurt someone, knowing your power over them, but trying to set them free instead of selfishly holding them hostage. It’s about mercy. This song is an apology, a burial of something once special.
